Product Questions
Connected Home
Connected Environment
Products are connected to the Steck app through 2.4Ghz WiFi networks and have 2 connection modes: (EZ MODE) standard and (AP MODE) optional. Only cameras have different connection modes: (QRCode MODE) standard and (EZ MODE) optional.
No, our app has connectivity with Alexa and Google Home voice assistants, but not all products are compatible for this use.
Only the mini internal switches are compatible with three-way and four-way electrical installations. For touch switches, the customer must install them in simple installations and link them in the app to work virtually in parallel or intermediate.
Cameras
Only cameras compatible with the "ONVIF" protocol and voice assistants can have images viewed on NVR equipment and voice assistants with screens. Other cameras do not have this type of image display and can only be viewed in the app.
Switches
Only mini internal switches are compatible with three-way and four-way installations. Touch switches must be installed in simple installations and linked in the app to work virtually in parallel or intermediate.
Residential Protection
Thermomagnetic Circuit Breaker (Miniature Circuit Breaker)
Thermomagnetic circuit breakers are used to protect conductors from effects caused by overloads and short circuits.
The curves determine the circuit breaker's operating range for instantaneous (magnetic) tripping. Curve B: tripping between 3 and 5 times the rated current, applied to resistive loads. Curve C: tripping between 5 and 10 times the rated current, applied to inductive loads.
No. Steck's circuit breaker line can be installed in any position without compromising its operation.
Yes. The circuit breaker has no polarity and can be powered from the upper or lower terminals.
Yes. Steck has the Safe® line, consisting of protection devices against voluntary and improper activation by unauthorized persons, preserving the safety of those who perform services on electrical installations, as required by NR10.
Yes. Steck's circuit breaker line has free tripping, meaning the mechanism's trip is independent of the circuit breaker handle.
Residual Current Device (RCD)
It is a device designed for protection against current leakage. Its main application is to protect people's lives in the event of accidental direct contact with energized components.
No. The RCD performs different functions from the circuit breaker and must be applied together. The RCD provides protection against current leakage, while the circuit breaker provides protection against overload and short circuit.
These values correspond to the RCD sensitivity. The 30mA RCD is for human protection (residential), while the 300mA is for fire risk protection.
The rated current of the RCD must be greater than or equal to the rated current of the circuit breaker applied to protect the same circuit.
Yes. The shower must be appropriate for use with an RCD, having a shielded resistance.
Yes. Steck's RCD does not have a specific side for power supply.
Through the test button located on the front of the RCD. When pressed, the RCD should trip. This procedure should be performed periodically.
Surge Protection Device (SPD)
The SPD protects electronic equipment against electrical surges from lightning, power grid switching, among others.
No. The SPD only provides protection against electrical surges and therefore cannot be applied to replace circuit breakers and RCDs.
No. The network connection can be made through the upper or lower terminal, according to your needs.
No. SPD specification does not consider the power or number of installed equipment, as the current flowing to the load does not pass through the SPD, which is installed in parallel with the equipment to be protected.
Yes. The maximum operating voltage (Up) of both models is 1,500V. Therefore, it will not compromise the operation of electronic devices.
Currently, Steck sells class 2 and 3 SPDs.
The SPD should be installed after the main circuit breaker and before the RCD. Scheme: MCB (main thermomagnetic circuit breaker) → SPD → RCD.
No. The SPD is a device capable of automatically resetting, dispensing with external intervention.
No. The SPD LED will only light up when it reaches the end of its useful life. Replacement should only occur when the LED is lit.
The SPD LED will light up and replacement will be required. There will be no interruption in the electrical power supply.
Yes, Steck's SPD allows connection of conductors with a cross-section of 4mm² to 16mm².
For a two-phase circuit, three SPDs are required: one for each phase and one for neutral.
Industrial Protection
Molded Case Circuit Breaker
Yes. Steck can supply the circuit breaker with accessories installed according to the customer's needs.
Up to two internal accessories can be applied.
Yes. Steck has a protection device against voluntary and improper actuation of the circuit breaker, preserving the safety of those who perform services on electrical installations as required by NR10.
This line allows adjustment of the thermal trip, responsible for actuation in overload cases. The magnetic trip, responsible for actuation in short-circuit cases, is fixed.
0.8, 0.9 and 1. For example, for a 400A circuit breaker: 400A x 0.8 = 320A; 400A x 0.9 = 360A; 400A x 1 = 400A.
No. Terminals are accessories sold separately.
Motor Circuit Breaker
The motor circuit breaker is responsible for providing thermomagnetic protection (overload and short circuit) for circuits that power electric motors.
Yes. The motor circuit breaker is operated by keys. At the bottom of the "ON" button, there is a device that allows padlock application, locking the motor circuit breaker operation.
Switching and Control
Disconnect Switches
Its purpose is to interrupt the circuit through action on its handle. This device does not provide any type of protection to the electrical circuit.
No. The disconnect switch does not provide protection against overload and short circuit.
Limit Switches
Yes. Both the plastic and metal models have positive break of their contacts.
Contactors
The contactor is an electromechanical device capable of establishing, conducting, and interrupting currents under normal circuit conditions, including overloads during operation. In other words, the contactor is a device that, from its control circuit, activates the load connected to its power circuit.
The minimum variation supported by the coil is 85% of its rated voltage. The maximum variation is 110% of the coil's rated voltage.
Yes. It is possible to change the coil to any desired voltage. It is important to observe if after replacement the core closes properly and if the contacts do not jam the contact holder.
Yes. Steck contactors can be installed directly on the mounting plate, fixed by screws, or can also be installed on 35mm DIN mounting rails, dispensing with screw fixing.
From a technical point of view, there will be no problems, since the contacts have no polarity. It is important to consider that, according to NBR 5410, all input of switching or protection devices must be made at the top of the component and the output at the bottom.
The SD1 contactor line allows the application of a contact block on top, consisting of two or four auxiliary contacts, and a block on the side, consisting of two auxiliary contacts.
The SD2 contactor line allows the application of two contact blocks on the side base of the contactor, consisting of two or four auxiliary contacts.
Thermal Relay
No. The thermal relay is sensitive to phase loss, but it cannot be considered effective protection as it does not perform immediate shutdown.
Yes. It is necessary to apply the individual mounting base, sold separately.
No. The thermal relay is used only for overload protection. For protection against overloads and short circuits, use the motor circuit breaker.
Outlets and Panels
Industrial Outlets
The color standard identifies the voltage: Purple (24V), Yellow (110V/130V), Blue (220V/240V), Red (380V/440V), Black (600V), Green (Up to 500Hz).
The difference is in the installation. The surface-mounted model is installed on the wall surface. The flush-mounted model is installed embedded in the machine housing or electrical panel structure.
Yes, all lines are interchangeable, as long as they have the same number of poles, voltage, and rated current.
The clock position determines the location of the ground pin in the outlet, varying according to color, to avoid incorrect connections.
NBR Standard Outlet with Cover
Yes. Steck's NBR outlet line with cover is the only one on the market to have INMETRO certification.
Platinnum Box®
No. The Platinnum Box® line has class II insulation, which eliminates the need for grounding its door.
